Toyota Orders Global Recall Over Airbag Issue
Japanese automobile giant Toyota will be recalling 2.27 million of its vehicles. The issue is with their airbags in several of their vehicles, the recall will affect even models that were exported. This is the biggest recall issued by the manufacturer in recent times.
The airbag issue is present in over 20 of their vehicles including the Corolla. The Japanese manufacturer has been in the news recently due to the recalls it has made. It is estimated that Toyota have recalled roughly nine million units in the last two months.

This is bad news for a manufacturer who just launched the 2014 Corolla Altis in India and is also planning to launch its premium luxury brand Lexus. This could spell bad news and may steer potential buyers to more trustworthy offerings.

If there is an issue with the airbag in the vehicle, it could cause a fire claims Toyota. They have so far not reported any case that has caused fatality. It seems like a big issue though if it can cause a fire. Toyota is doing the right thing by issuing a recall and fixing the issue.

Toyota recently launched the COrolla Altis in India with both a petrol and diesel option. The petrol engine will sport a 1798cc engine, which will easily produce 138 horsepower. The engine will be mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox.
The diesel powered Corolla Altis will have a 1364cc engine and will generate 87 horsepower. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The car will be available in a variety of colours, there are seven choices to choose from.
