Suzuki Gives The Swift A Minor Facelift
Maruti Suzuki has been selling the India for while now, and when it was launched it was the ideal car for the Indian market. The Swift hatchback has remained a hot seller for the Japanese manufacturer, while the Swift Dzire is also well accepted in India.
The Japanese manufacturer has now decided to give its popular hatchback a facelift or an upgrade. Suzuki has provided the 2014 Swift with a few minor changes. The changes will begin with all June, 2014 models and will include LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) along with fog lamps. Suzuki will also provide a gear shift indicator and TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitor System).
All the upgrades to be added to Swift models are already present in developed markets like the United Kingdom. These minor changes will not come to India soon as it will affect the cost of the vehicle significantly. Suzuki also provide a DAB digital radio and navigation in its UK spec Swift.

The UK model already was packed with segment leading features. UK spec Swift features auto headlights, cruise control, power folding mirrors with integrated turn lights and button engine stop/start. It also sports keyless entry, electric windows, rear privacy glass and automatic air-conditioner.
Suzuki offers the Swift internationally with the same engine present in Indian Swifts. The main difference is UK spec engines comply to EURO 5 standards while Indian engines are EURO 4 compatible. The Japanese manufacturer sells both petrol as well as diesel engine models. The diesel mill is not popular in the UK and so Suzuki plans to stop offering the engine.
The Japanese manufacturer offers a 4X4 option too in UK, but do not expect the all wheel drive option to come to India anytime soon.
