Nissan To Offer New & Bigger SUV In India
Nissan India is planning aggressively to capture the Indian market with new and innovative products. The Japanese manufacturer now plans to offer India with a bigger SUV. Nissan currently does not offer a full fledged Sports Utility Vehicle in India. The Terrano is a compact SUV and the Japanese have learnt there is growth in the SUV segment in India.
The Japanese manufacturer is launching its new Navara pickup truck in international markets. The Indian market is not comfortable with the pickup truck concept, thus Nissan will be producing a SUV based on it for India. This will be a great addition in Nissan's product line up.
The Navara pickup truck will be manufactured in Thailand and production of the vehicle is expected to commence by the end of 2014. The vehicle will be powered by a diesel engine and will be sourced from Cummins. It utilise a 2.8-litre four cylinder diesel mill, power outputs have not been revealed, so far.

Nissan plans to make the new Navara more fuel efficient than the previous generation pickup truck. The design of the 2015 Navara will utilise Nissan's family design language. The japanese manufacturer have tried to keep the weight of the pickup truck as less as possible and have achieved it.
The headlights of 2015 Navara pickup truck will have a square design and will have LED DRLs(Daytime Running Lights). The design of the new Navara will be heavily influenced by the Japanese manufacturer's X-Trail, Qashqai and Pathfinder. The car will be more luxurious than its outgoing model. Nissan will also provide the pickup truck with more safety features than before.
When Nissan launch this vehicle in India it will compete against the likes of Ford Endeavour and Toyota's Fortuner. we expect the Japanese manufacturer will offer the SUV at an attractive price point compared to its rivals.
