Mercedes-Benz S-Class Diesel & GLA-Class Bookings Open
Mercedes-Benz has started accepting bookings for two of its upcoming models - S-Class diesel/S 350 CDI and the GLA-Class crossover.
The GLA-Class is based on the A-Class hatchback and is a front-wheel driven hatchback with a raised riding height and other SUV like elements like skid plates.

The GLA 220 CDI, which is the only variant likely to be sold here, at least initially, is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine rated at 167 bhp. This is same engine that powers the A-Class hatch in which it develops 107 bhp.
Expected to be launched during the festive season, the booking amount for the GLA-Class is Rs 50,000.
Mercedes-Benz already sells the S 500 petrol variant of the S-Class in India. The upcoming S 350 CDI is the base variant of the luxury sedan. Expected to come with a price tag of around INR 1.25 crore before taxes, the S 350 CDI will not all the bells and whistles found in the INR 1.5 crore-S 500.
The Burmester sound system with 3D surround system, Nappa leather upholstery, two individual rear seats, with centre-armrest mounted tables, temperature controlled cupholders, 360-degree parking camera and night-vision camera are some of the things that will be missing in the S 350 CDI.
The booking amount for the Mercedes-Benz S 350 CDI is INR 5 lakh and deliveries are expected to begin from next month or early July.
