Mercedes Benz India To Double Manufacturing Capacity
Mercedes Benz India launched their S350 CDI for an attractive price of INR 1,07,00,000 ex-showroom Pune. The event was held at their state of the art manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune. They announced at the launch that they will be doubling its production facility to cope with the demands.

The Pune facility currently produces 10,000 vehicles annually and they now are planning to double this figure and produce 20,000 vehicles every year. Mercedes have reported more inquiries and walk ins, post the Indian election for the Prime Ministerial post.
Present at the event was Eberhard Kern, Managing Director, Mercedes Benz India. He stated, since the election and formation of a stable government, the German manufacturer has seen more activity in their showrooms and dealerships. The new government has so far shown optimism and action is on its way.
He also said, Mercedes Benz India is anticipating another year of great sales. The new government in India is a highly appreciated by the automotive sector. They only hope everything that is promised by the government comes true.
Mercedes Benz India will be launching ten products in 2014. Out of which, five remain and will be launched before the end of 2014. The launch of a compact SUV GLA and CLA 45 AMG is highly anticipated in India and the wait won't be too long.
The German manufacturer believes their GLA and CLA will change the game for Mercedes Benz in India. They also expect the A-class and B-class to do better in the coming time and will be definite contributors in sales. They will be increasing its dealer network by introducing ten showrooms within this year.
In India the luxury car segment has been growing significantly over the previous few years. Mercedes Benz India is the fastest growing manufacturer in 2013, when they sold 9,003 vehicles. They believe they can beat its competitors in terms of growth in the market.
