McLaren MP4-29 2014 Formula 1 Car Revealed

Following Force India and Williams, another high profile team, McLaren has revealed its Formula 1 race car for the 2014 season. Named MP4-29, the Woking team's car features an attention grabbing awkward nose, which is has resulted from the team's take on the new rules.

The unattractive nose apart McLaren MP4-29 is the car the team hopes will change their fortunes this year after their unusually dry performance during the 2013 season when not only did they not win a single race, but did not even manage a podium finish, a first for them since 1980.

Driving the McLaren MP4-29 will be former world champion Jenson Button and Danish newcomer Kevin Magnussen.

This season is perhaps the first time that teams have been required to contend with so many drastic rule changes, resulting in a lot of pressure on all teams. The extensive technical changes are also sure to result in reliability issues during races, an inevitable fact everyone has to confront. At the same time, teams with the most reliable car are most likely to take the lead.
