Maruti's Idea To Sell 3 Million Cars
India's largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki is set to storm the market with plans of selling 3 million cars annually. In regards to achieving their target, Maruti will have to almost double their model line up to 25.
The company is all set to launch a SUV which will have an option to run with petrol, diesel and CNG, within a few months to compete with the Renault Duster. This will soon be followed by another compact SUV to take on the Ford Ecosport. This is Maruti's part of the strategy to have a model in all segments.

Maruti Suzuki is also getting to launch a new Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) with a capacity to carry 1 ton, which will be placed in the same segment as the Tata Ace, Mahindra Gio and the Ashok Leyland Dost. The LCV will have a separate sales network.
The company is planning to set up a new manufacturing facility in Gujarat that will have a capacity to produce 1.5 million units annually.
RC Bhargava, Maruti Suzuki India Chairman mentioned that in order to achieve the target of 3 million units per year, Maruti needs to have at least 25 models in their line up.
