Mahindra Rise Prize; Win USD 1 Million
Mahindra Group launched India's grandest innovation prize, the ‘Rise Prize' which will offer USD 1 million to help globally relevant, disruptive innovations while helping build a culture of innovation in India.
There will be two primary challenges, a Mobility Challenge, to answer solutions for a driverless car in India. The second challenge is a Solar Challenge, which targets solar energy products and make them accessible to the population.

"With the Rise Prize, the Mahindra Group wants to provoke big disruptive ideas that can dramatically change lives. We are offering a big incentive for fresh thinking among the new generation of innovators in our country," explains
Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group.
He further added,"Our ambition is to propel India into the next orbit of Innovation and develop the nascent innovation ecosystem in India. Essentially we want to catalyze the rise of world-class, world-beating innovations and technology from India."
Mahindra has 'Spark The Rise' initiative, which they launched in 2011. The motive is to connect entrepreneurs to resources, they have 3,00,000 users and have raised USD 1 Million.
The Solar Challenge looks for ‘Affordable DIY Rooftop Solar Kits' at an affordable price for general people. It is presumed India gets a lot of sun and if able to harness it would be on par to Middle eastern oil fields, in relation to solar power.

This objective will first be applied in rural areas, to help them be more self sustainable.
The Mobility Challenge will encourage, driverless cars in India. This would help redefine the Future of Mobility. The benefits are, there would be far less accidents as compared to today. It would also aid differently-abled people and they too can move around without difficulty.
