Mahindra Halo Sports Car Concept Headed For Auto Expo 2014 Reveal
When Mahindra became a part of Formula E electric car championship last year we presumed it would eventually lead to a production sports car. Turns out that sports car is already here even before the start of the championship.
Named as ‘Halo' Mahindra's sports car is an electric concept that will debut at the 2014 Auto Expo. The vehicle is being developed by Reva, the company's electric car brand and has also been designed in-house.
It is not yet clear whether Halo will be a two door or a four door sports car, with rumors hinting at both. What we can be sure of is that the car will be a four seater irrespective of the number of doors.

According to Autocar's sources the electric motor powering the Halo will be a 105 kW (140 bhp) unit and it will be fed by a high capacity battery. Claimed 0-100 km/h time is under 7 seconds, while top speed is said to be over 200 km/h. There could also be a petrol engine, acting either as a generator for the battery or as a secondary power source, in which case the Halo will be a hybrid sports car.
Mahindra will look to sell the Halo electric sports car both in India and outside. The concept that will be revealed at the Expo will help Mahindra gauge customer reactions. Production is likely to start in late 2015 or early 2016.
