Wolfgang Zeibart, Jaguar Land Rover head engineer explained they are keen in using Tesla Model X as a base. He did not rule out, possibilities of an electric Land Rover or Jaguar.

He further added that having a hybrid offering in their luxury portfolio is important in todays age. He promised JLR won't compromise on their turbo and engine size, for future models.
The new emission requirements are stringent and complying with them is good for both manufacturer as well as the environment.
To prove their point Land Rover has been showcasing their hybrid Range Rovers. They are using them in the same terrain as normal gasoline engines.

Up until now the company wasn't pushing for these vehicles so far. These SUVs will not be sold in the United States as of now.
This means Land Rover will not get a Range Rover nor a Jaguar with either a four or three cylinder engine. It is possible, however, an electric SUV could make its way in the form of a range Rover.
