Hyundai Verna Launched In Russia Coming To India
Hyundai India recently launched its Xcent compact sedan for the Indian market, and have several cars in its line up bound for India, which include facelifts and new models. The South Korean manufacturer had also introduced its SUV, the 2014 Santa Fe in India.
They currently offer the Verna sedan in India which is due for a facelift. Hyundai have gone ahead and launched the vehicle in Russia, where they call it Solaris. It has received significant exterior as well as interior changes and will be coming to India soon.
Hyundai Solaris and Verna are the same vehicle and are named differently in India and Russia. Hyundai have launched the base version of its sedan with a price tag of INR 8,25,980. The Solaris is highly influenced by Sonata and Genesis in terms of design and styling.

Hyundai have provided the redesigned Solaris with two petrol engines: the first a more conservative 1.4-litre engine, capable of producing 107 horsepower, and the second is a 1.6-litre engine, capable of generating a maximum of 123 horsepower. The engine will be mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The exterior of Hyundai Verna that is India bound will receive significant updates. The front grille will have two chrome bars and looks more mature. The headlights have become bigger, while foglamps have been redesigned and will sport LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs). The rear gets an aerodynamic lip on the boot and redesigned tail light reflectors.
Hyundai is planning to get the Verna facelift version to India as soon as possible. We believe the South Korean manufacturer will launch the vehicle post monsoon and during the festive season. The sedan is expected to cost a bit more than the outgoing model.
