Honda India May Export The Mobilio
The Japanese four-wheeler giant, Honda India had recently showcased its soon-to-launch MPV. It is called the Mobilio and is scheduled to launch in July, 2014. Now even prior to its India launch the company is planning to export the Indian made MPV to neighbouring countries.
The current plan is to launch the MPV in India first without any further delays. The Mobilio will have to face competition from the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the soon-to-launch Datsun Go+ MPV. Honda is expected to price its MPV between Datsun and Suzuki.

In India, Honda offers the CR-V, City, Brio and Amaze out of which only the CR-V is not exported. The Japanese manufacturer exports its vehicles to neighbouring countries like Nepal, Bhutan and South Africa. They currently export approximately 5,000 vehicles and would like to double that figure by 2015-end.

Honda will manufacture its MPV the Mobilio in two countries as of now, namely Indonesia and India. It will be offered with both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine would get a 1.5-litre engine with a manual as well as an automatic option. A 1.5-litre i-DTEC, diesel engine will be available only with a manual gearbox.

The Japanese manufacturer has so far not revealed other details regarding its MPV. We expect the car to share several components from its range of vehicles to keep costs in check. This will be Honda's first MPV on offer in India and expectations are set high.
