Honda India In Need Of 1000 Employees
Honda, the largest Japanese automobile manufacturer will be hunting 1,000 employees in India. The Japanese manufacturer will be looking for new employees as it will be beginning a second production shift. The goal is to begin the new production shift with 1,000 new employees before the fiscal year end.
Honda Cars India Limited or HCIL has planned a goal of selling more than 2,00,000 vehicles in the year 2014 to 2015. This is an increase of 50% in sales, the Japanese manufacturer is confident about its goal and are thus increasing their workforce.

Honda India currently has two production facilities one in Tapukara and Greater Noida. There are close 9,000 employees in total considering both the facilities. They consist of direct as well as indirect employees of HCIL. There are 3,000 employees working at Tapukara facility out of which 2,200 are direct employees.

Honda can currently manufacture 1.2 lakh vehicles per year in two shifts. The Japanese manufacture though is aiming sales of 3,00,000 vehicles by 2016 to 2017. They will thus revamp their facility to facilitate the increase in manufacture of vehicles.

Jnaneswar Sen, HCIL Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales told our source, "When we will start the second shift at the Tapukara facility, we will require more manpower. We think we will add 800-1,000 people in our overall headcount in India by the end of this fiscal."
Honda India have also decided they will increase their sourcing of components, which includes engine parts. They plan to double the sourcing of parts from India and it will cost them approximately INR 800 crore. They plan to achieve this feat in the fiscal year of 2014 to 2015.
