Formula One Montreal 2014 Race Highlight

The 2014 Montreal GP of Canada began with both championship leaders and team mates locking out the first row. The duo dominated most of the race by chasing each other and leaving rest of the pack behind. But their luck was soon to take a u-turn for the worse, both drivers simultaneously acquired some issue with their vehicles.

Taking this as an opportunity, Felipe Massa and the Force India duo changed their strategy and settled for a one pit stop. In their desperation though, on the penultimate lap Felipe Massa in his William hit the back of Force India's Sergio Perez and both did not score any points.

Sebastian Vettel had a tough fight with Sergio Perez for the last spot on the podium. The entire race was filled with drama and only 14 drivers and cars made it to the chequered flag. The German looked in good form, though the entire paddock was way behind the time sheet compared to the Mercedes Powered vehicles.

It was still not a good day for the Scuderia Ferrari outfit - they added significant updates to their 2014 race car. Fernando Alonso struggled with pace and could only manage sixth position and seven valuable championship points. Teammate Kimi Raikkonen took the sole point on offer in tenth position and was 54 seconds adrift of the leaders.

If there were no issues with the Petronas AMG Mercedes car, no one would come close to Nico or Hamilton. In a way the race got more interesting with the front runners running into trouble and issues with their systems.
