Ford To Launch New Fiesta Only In Diesel Variant
Ford India showcased the new Fiesta, which is slated for a June, 2014 launch. The car was on display at the 2014 Auto Expo held in New Delhi. The Fiesta has not sold as expected and with the 2014 version the American manufacturer believes the car could turn around its fortunes.

David Schoch, Ford Asia Pacific President explained, they would launch 23 vehicles in a single year, 2014. The American based manufacturer believes India has great market potential along with excellent facility for manufacturing vehicles. They are building facilities for the coming future in India as well as Asia Pacific.
Ford India is expected to launch the 2014 Fiesta in June, 2014. There is rumours now that the new Fiesta will be offered only in Diesel variants during the launch. The petrol engine may not be offered soon and eventually could make its way by the end of this calendar year.
The 2014 Fiesta by Ford is expected to sport a 1.5-litre diesel engine, which will produce a power output of 90 PS. The engine will be paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. There is no information regarding the petrol engine so far.
Ford have tweaked a few design elements on the Fiesta's exterior. The headlights of the vehicle will be sharper and will flow on to the sides. The front grille will be made more sporty owing to the trapezoidal design. Bold lines on the Fiesta's bonnet add muscle and character to it.
Ford will be improving quality within the cabin by providing new seat fabrics along with a two tone dashboard to give it a more upmarket look. The 2014 Fiesta will feature Applink, which allows the occupants to control mobile applications, phone calls, change music, as well as other voice commands for various actions. The instrument cluster and switches will have a new ice blue light effect.
Ford have not revealed prices so far, we expect them to price the 2014 Fiesta closer to their current generation vehicle. We will have to wait and see, if the American manufacturer will launch both the engine options or only the diesel option first in June, 2014.
