Ford MPV Model To Be Launched In India In 2016
Remember the Ford Figo compact sedan concept which the automaker revealed just before the Auto Expo 2014? Turns out, the company also showcased a longer version of the same concept in Brazil soon after.
This proper sized Ford Figo sedan, called Ka Concept 4-door has a longer wheelbase, larger taillights and looks better than the concept car that's meant for India since its size has not been stunted to qualify for tax savings.

While the full sized Ford Figo sedan will not make it to India, Overdrive reports that a MPV based on this sedan will be introduced. There is no information yet about what this MPV will be called or what it will look like.
However, we can expect the Ford MPV to get the same engine lineup as the Figo sedan. Ford is also likely to provide its 1.0 liter EcoBoost engine as an option. The report says the Ford MPV will not be designed like a boring people carrier, but will be stylish.
The production version of the Ford Figo sedan will hit dealerships in 2015, which would mean the MPV based on the long wheelbase Figo Sedan will be launched in India only in 2016. By which time Indian market will have plenty of similar models, including the Honda Mobilio & the upcoming Hyundai MPV, besides Maruti Ertiga & Chevy Enjoy.
