2014 Renault Koleos Unveiled; Salman Khan Becomes First Owner
The Koleos premium SUV is not the most popular model in India, but Renault is not giving up just now. The automaker is set to launch the new facelifted version of the Koleos at the 2014 Auto Expo, which sports the new company grille design. The facelifted version will also come for the first time in a two wheel drive variant, which will be far more affordable.
Renault, which was the main sponsor for the recently concluded Star Guild Awards, took the opportunity to reveal the facelifted Koleos on stage in front of the large crowd consisting of Bollywood bigwigs and other industry personalities, many of whom could be considered potential customers.
Mr. Sumit Sawhney, Country CEO and Managing Director for Renault Operations in India, who came on stage to introduce the 2014 Koleos had Bollywood actor Salman Khan for company.
Post its introduction Sawhney handed over the keys of the all new Koleos to the Bollywood actor, who became the first person in India to own the new SUV.

The 2014 Koleos, assembled in Renault's Oragadam, Chennai facility, is powered by a 2.0 liter diesel engine rated at 173bhp and 360 Nm of torque. The new SUV will be offered in both two wheel and all wheel drive variants, along with 6 speed automatic and manual transmissions.
Expect the 2014 Renault Koleos to be offered for a starting price of around INR 22 lakhs, ex-showroom.
