By Ajinkya

Datsun had revealed their MPV vehicle named the GO+ at the 2014 Auto Expo held in Greater Noida, Delhi. The Japanese car manufacturer has launched their new MPV in Indonesia as the GO+ Panca. This is the same vehicle that will be offered in India in the coming months.

The GO+ Panca will be built at their Purwakarta facility in West Java. The new facility will build only Datsun cars and will manufacture the engine assembly. They will also do the body work, painting and chassis production.

Datsun's MPV GO+ will be powered by the same engine they have used in the GO hatchback. It is a 1.2-litre petrol engine which will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The engine will churn out 68 horsepower. The GO+ Panca is priced at 85 million IDR in Jakarta, which translates to INR 4.42 lakh.

The MPV will have best in its class space and room within the cabin and will be a 5+2 seater. It will sport three rows of seat and is the best offering in its class in terms of cost.

The GO+ Panca will feature connected front seats, speed sensing wipers, multi information display and follow-me-home headlamps. It will also sport the mobile dock that was seen in their hatchback. Customers will also have the option to choose from a variety of accessories that will be priced aggressively. This will lend the car a more personal touch with its owner.

In India too it is expected that Datsun would offer the same feature, they could offer the car in an automatic variant as well. They are currently working on setting up their own showrooms in India. Let's hope Datsun maintains the same prices in India as they could take on their rivals aggressively and swing the momentum in their favour.
