Bio-Fuel Cheaper In Future

A scientist from London has devised a technique to produce affordable and eco friendly bio fuel from the remains of dead plants and their tissue. This will be the second generation among bio fuel.

The current technology utilises enzymes, which are dominated by large companies of the market. A combined effort from Danish and Iraqi researchers gave birth to a new technique avoiding the expensive enzymes all together.

Bioethanol is made from plant remains after the other parts have been used for food and other agricultural activities. Thus it has been called 'second generation' which could substitute traditional methods.

This method requires plant matter and its easy to produce corn and sugar cane however, these are used for eating as well. Thus, there is a strong opposition from farmers and people regarding the method.

The Scientists are trying now to produce bioethanol from cellulose which, is tougher to be broken down. It also cannot be used directly as a source for food.

RHSO3H is the new acid which is used instead of the enzyme used in traditional process. This acid is produced from the husk of rice. A high content of silicate is derived from burning rice husks, which is essential for the acid production.
