2014 Honda City Waiting Period Extended
Honda recently launched the latest version of their 2014 Honda City. The Japanese automobile giant now offers the vehicle in a diesel variant too. This has catapulted the sales as well as bookings of the latest model.
The problem that the Japanese manufacturer now faces is a shortage of vehicles that the consumer demands. There is a short waiting period of four months from the day you book your vehicle. This is a blessing in disguise as well as a curse, since it means that Honda is providing good cars and a curse because buyers refrain from booking or move to another manufacturer that can provide a car faster.

In the past four months since its launch, the Japanese automobile giant has delivered approximately 30,959 units. To cope with the current predicament Honda will be lowering the production of the Amaze and paying more attention to the City.

Honda had not expected that the majority of its sales would come from their top most variant. They had expected only about 20% of sales to come from the top trim, while the current trend shows bookings of over 50%. Even the automatic version of City that features Continuously Variable Transmission accounts for over 30% of their total sales.

Honda plans to sell roughly 3,00,000 vehicles per year from their Greater Noida facility as well as Tapukara plant in Rajasthan. The Rajasthan facility will be utilised to export both petrol and diesel components. They will also export parts to certain parts of South-East Asia.
