2014 Fiat Punto To Launch In October
The Italian manufacturer has been selling its uniquely designed hatchback, the Punto in India for a while now. Fiat has not made any major change to its Punto since its launch in 2009. The manufacturer has decided to give it a much awaited facelift and will be launching it in October, 2014.
The facelifted model has been doing several test rounds in the city of Pune, Maharashtra. Fiat is eager to get the Punto out to the public as they have several other products waiting to be launched.
The 2014 Punto will receive updates to the exterior as well as the interior of the vehicle. The hatchback will get redesigned headlights, tail lamps, front grille and bumpers. The fog lamps will be embellished with chrome.

The 2014 Punto is not expected to get an upgrade under the bonnet. It will sport the same petrol and diesel engines. There will be two petrol engines: a 1.2-litre producing 68 PS and a 1.4-litre engine producing 90 PS.
A single diesel engine will be available in two states of tune. Fiat will provide the diesel Punto with a 1.3-litre Multijet engine that will produce maximum power outputs of 76 PS and 93 PS. There will be no AMT option and both the engines will be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
The interiors of the 2014 Punto are expected to be similar to that seen in the new Linea. The entertainment system, ac vent and centre console will sport a piano black finish. The dashboard will sport a dual tone finish of beige and black.
Fiat has already launched its refreshed Linea and will be following it with several other launches. The products lined up are the Punto facelift, Avventura crossover and a new automobile brand Abarth with its Abarth 500. All these vehicles are to launch within the year end.
