Toyota GT86 Rally Car For Customer Teams Confirmed
Toyota Motorsport GmbH (TMG), the Japanese automaker's European motorsport division has announced it will build rally car versions of the GT86. It will be officially called TMG GT86 CS-R3 and will be targeted towards private customer teams.
Several automakers manage customer motorsport programmes which cater to private teams which enter specifically developed race specification variants of road cars in events world over. Toyota GT86 rally car will be one such car that will be developed to comply with R3 class specifications.

This means the GT86 will feature six speed sequential transmission, limited slip differential, larger brakes, a slightly modified engine among other upgrades. The car will continue to be rear wheel driven and will be eligible to take part in all FIA sanctioned rallies including World Rally Championship.
Toyota Motorsport GT86 CS-R3 rally cars will be available for customer teams to purchase.
