Toyota GT86 Racer Takes On McLaren MP4-12C
There are very few cars out there which will let you have fun regardless of the place, be it on public roads or a racetrack. Its not about going fast, but the handling that provides a remarkable driving experience. While most expensive cars like the Porsche 911, 458 Italia, Mclaren MP4-12C do a good job at that, they will, however, cost quite a bit.
Toyota GT86 on the other hand is one of those few cars that you will enjoy driving without having to spending too much. Say you go ahead and buy it. Eventually, at one point of time you are bound to wish that the car had more power and torque. It handles so sweet that you just wish there was more oomph in it.
As AutoCar's Steve Sutcliffe explains, you could, by just adding a turbocharger. While a regular GT86 costs about 25,000 pounds (approx INR 25 lakhs), has 197 HP and 151 lb-ft torque, a Fensport tuned GT86 Turbo will set you back by just about 10,000 pounds (INR 10 lakhs) and you end up with 250 HP and 250 lb-ft of torque.
In the following video the AutoCar editor compares how one such Fensport tuned GT86 performs against one of the earlier supercars we mentioned - McLaren MP4-12C. The said GT86 is a turbo sprint racing version. So go ahead and watch it.
