The current generation XF was introduced in 2008 and was given an extensive facelift in 2011. Its successor, which could arrive in 2016, will sport a different design that will follow the company's new design language showcased in the C-X17 concept. It will also feature design highlights from the F-Type.

The next gen Jaguar XF will rival the BMW 5-Series that will also arrive around the same time. Callun has also revealed that ‘the XF will have a different job to do," considering the F-Type has taken the over the role of a sports car model. The new XF could be turned into a more premium luxury saloon.

The next gen XJ on the other hand is still sometime away. Before the arrival of an all new XJ, Jaguar will launch a facelifted version of sedan in 2014.
Embracing the C-X17 concept design language will also mean the current XK model will let go of the oval grille we are used to seeing and adopt new the trapezoidal shaped front face as well.
