2014 Mercedes S-Class India Launch In January
Mercedes-Benz has decided to prepone the launch of its flagship sedan, the 2014 S-Class, in India. The new S-Class luxury sedan, which was earlier scheduled to be launched at the Indian Auto Expo in February 2014, will instead be launched in January.

According to AutoCar, which has been informed by Mercedes-Benz, the all new S-Class will make it formal arrival in India on January 8 in New Delhi. Mercedes decided to unveil the S-Class in India ahead of its scheduled launch owing to increase in demand.
Demand for the S-Class in India is reportedly so high that the previously generation model is sold out and the 2014 S-Class is already booked for the next three months. Taking into consideration the growing demand the german automaker is said to have decided not to delay the launch any longer.
Launching on January 8th will the top of the line, S500, the only variant which will be available in India initially. The Mercedes S500 will be imported from Germany and will come powered by a 4.7 liter twin turbocharged V8 engine that is capable of delivering 449 bhp power and 700 Nm of torque.
To be available only in long wheelbase version, the Mercedes-Benz S500 is expected to come for a price of nearly INR 2 crores. The locally assembled and a lot more affordable entry level S-Class variant, the S 350 CDI meanwhile, will only make its arrival in India during the second half of 2014.
