2014 Mercedes S-Class Sedan Unveiled
The 2014 model year Mercedes Benz S-Class is one car we could write a small book about. That should give you an idea about the work that must have gone into the development of the luxury sedan.
The new Mercedes S-Class sedan comes packed with innovative features, for both safety and luxury. The design is distinctly S-Class, but with present generation Mercedes design elements incorporated into it. Basically, there are more lines and curves which accentuate the overall design. The overall dimensions are more or less the same as the outgoing model, but the sleeker design has a drag coefficient of just 0.24, which will more than compensate for the negligible weight increase over the outgoing model.
The classic S-Class front grille has been retained of course, but the front LED headlights, the front air dam, the exhaust outlets among other things bear a redesigned look. It is on the inside that the new Merc luxury sedan truly comes to its own. To say that it is several times more advanced and feature packed than the model it will replace will be an understatement. We'll go into the details once Mercedes launches the car in India.
In Europe, the 2014 Mercedes S-Class sedan will get the following engines: S400 Hybrid (3.5 liter V6 petrol engine, rated at 302 HP+27HP electric boost), S500 petrol (4.7 liter V8 rated at 448 HP), S350 BlueTec (3.0 liter diesel, rated at 254 HP) and S300 BlueTec Hybrid (2.1 liter four cylinder). We'll conclude for now saying, the 2014 Mercedes S-Class will here to fill in the shoes of Maybach. Large image gallery awaits you.
