The 2015 C-Class will offer several engine options, some of which will be market specific. What's common is that the new C-Class will offer better fuel economy than ever before. Every variant will also get Start/Stop as standard feature. On an average, fuel economy is said to have improved by up to 20 percent, improving performance at the same time.

Some of the engines which are expected to feature in the 2015 C-Class include, a 2.0 liter turbo four, a 3.0 liter turbo V6, two 2.1 liter turbo diesel engines of different power outputs and a 1.6 liter turbo diesel. A hybrid variant will also be available.

The engines will be mated to either a 6 speed manual or a seven speed auto box. All wheel drive will be offered as standard in all variants in the U.S.

Built on the new lightweight modular rear-drive Mercedes Rear-drive Architecture, the 2015 C-Class is both lighter and larger than the outgoing model. The car weighs almost 100 kg lighter, while still having grown longer by 3.7 inches and wider by 1.6 inches, with an increased wheelbase of 3 inches. The car is also stronger, with a 20 percent increase in stiffness.

Debuting first time, not only in the C-Class, but also for the first time in the segment is Mercedes AirMatic air suspension. While the standard variant will come with steel suspension, they can be upgraded to air-suspensions offering superior ride quality and comfort.

For your performance needs, a sporty version of the air suspension is also available as part of the Sports package. This lowers the ride height by 0.6 inches. These suspensions will also offer various suspension modes - Comfort, ECO, Sport, and Sport+ - which are selected via the Agility Select switch.

Safety is uncompromised thanks to several features, some of which have directly made their way into the 2015 C-Class from the S-Class. Some of the safety features that will be part of the variant lineup include....(Cont.)
