BMW 5 Series Facelift Launched; Price, Features & Other Details

BMW has introduced the facelifted 5 Series luxury sedan in India. The updated model comes with three engine options and four variants. The new 5 Series lineup has a starting price of INR 46.90 lakhs.

BMW 5 Series facelift adds a host of visual changes. These include added chrome on the BMW kidney grille, side window frames, tailpipe tip , fog lamp surrounds and elsewhere. Chrome inserts vary depending on the variants. The lower air-dam on the facelift model has been restyled. The rear headlamp cluster bears a sharper look, while the ORVMs now sport blinkers.

Colours

BMW 5 Series facelift is available in following colours: Metallic: Black Sapphire, Callisto Grey, Carbon Black metallic, Cashmere Silver, Glacier Silver, Imperial Blue Brilliant Effect, Jatoba, Sophisto Grey Brilliant Effect and Mineral White. Alpine White is available as non-metallic colour.

Engine & Variants

BMW 530d M Sport: BMW 3.0 liter TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder diesel engine that develops 258 HP and 540 Nm max torque. Sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes 5.8 seconds and top speed is 250 km/h.

BMW 525d: BMW 2.0 liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder diesel engine generates 218 HP and 450 Nm max torque. The engines takes the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and to a top speed of 243 km/h.

BMW 520d: BMW 2.0 TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder diesel engine producing 184 HP and 380 Nm max torque. 0 to 100 km/h takes 7.9 seconds and top speed is reached at 231 km/h.

Standard features

Active Protection with Attention Assist, Active headrests (front), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) with Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Side-impact protection and Warning triangle with first-aid kit. Auto Start-Stop, ECO PRO mode, Brake-Energy Regeneration, the next generation of BMW iDrive (the on-board Driver Information System), Harman Kardon Surround Sound System, Connectivity through Bluetooth and USB devices are standard on the new BMW 5 Series.

Infotainment

In addition, the standard features on the BMW 525d Luxury Plus and the BMW 530d M Sport also include BMW Apps and BMW Navigation Professional (integrated Global Positioning System - GPS) with 25.9 cm colour display, iDrive with touch controller, DVD drive and integrated hard drive for maps and audio files.
