The news was revealed by Mercedes-benz India MD, Eberhard Kern, to TOI during the recent launch event of the SLK 55 AMG sports convertible. Potential AMG buyers will be driven directly from the helipad to a special facility which houses high end Mercedes models, including AMG branded ones.

Mercedes-Benz introduced its high performance oriented, AMG branded vehicles some three years back and since then it has sold around 200 of these cars. "It is a small target group, but growing. We see a rising demand for high performance cars in India," TOI quotes Kern as saying.
Kern also informed that the helipad was constructed also keeping in mind such customers who prefer to fly down in their own helicopters to Mercedes-Benz's facility. Initially, the company will begin helicopter visits for customers from Mumbai and later extend it to other cities.
"We had to take special permissions to build the helipad, and this will result in providing a high degree of convenience to our customers."
