Honda ATVs in India Are On Their Way
All-Terrain Vehicle (ATVs) sell in relatively low volumes in India, with around 1,200 unit sales in a year. But this is still considered a healthy improvement considering only a few years back the market was almost insignificant. This is thanks to world's largest ATV manufacturer Polaris which set up shop in India in 2011.
Most of the ATVs sold here are from the Indian subsidiary of Polaris. The remaining bit come from non-branded Chinese manufacturers. According to a report by ET Indian ATV segment is set to get another boost with the entry of Honda.

Honda Motor Company is a conglomerate that manufacturers everything from four wheelers and two wheelers to business aircrafts to generators and ATVs. In fact, it is the world's second largest ATV manufacturer, behind Polaris.
The advantage Honda will have over Polaris is its already well established system of manufacturing, assembly, distribution and service facilities. ET cites Honda Motors India as saying that market research for ATV sales in India conducted by it has yielded positive outcome.
A timeframe for lunch of Honda ATVs has not been confirmed yet. Initially, Honda is likely to offer its high performance ATVs via the CBU route. This would make them pricey, but that should not be a major concern considering most of the orders for ATVs in India comes from the hospitality sector and adventure parks.
