Tata Motors September Sales Drop 4%
Here are excerpts from Tata Motors press release on its September sales performance.
Tata Motors' total sales (including exports) of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in September 2012 were 75,773 vehicles, lower by 4%, over September 2011. The company's domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for September 2012 were 70,332 units, lower by 3%, over 72,566 units, sold in September last year.
Cumulative sales (including exports) for the company for the fiscal are 409,898 units, higher by 3%, over 399,661 units, sold last year.
Sales of passenger vehicles for September 2012 are at 21,652 units, lower by 18%, over 26,319 units, sold in September last year. Sales of the Tata Nano were 5,491 units, higher by 87%, compared to 2,936 units, sold in September last year. The Indica range sales were 7,936 units, lower by 23%, over 10,282 units, sold in September last year. The Indigo range recorded sales of 3,706 units, lower by 52%, over 7,793 units, sold in September last year. The Sumo/ Safari/ Aria/ Venture range sales were 4,519 units, lower by 15%, over 5,308 units, sold in September last year.
Cumulative sales of passenger vehicles were 130,642 units, higher by 4%, compared to 125,448 units, sold till September last year. Cumulative sales of the Nano are at 39,623 units, higher by 35%, over 29,377 units, sold till September last year. Cumulative sales of the Indica range are at 42,091 units, higher by 2%, over last year. Cumulative sales of the Indigo family are 23,875 units, lower by 26%, over last year. Cumulative sales of the Sumo/Safari/ Aria/ Venture range are 25,053 units, higher by 11%, over last year.
The company's sales of commercial vehicles in September 2012 in the domestic market were 48,680 units, a 5% growth, compared to 46,247 vehicles, sold in September last year. LCV sales were 33,393 units, a growth of 19%, compared to 28,092 vehicles sold in September last year. M&HCV sales stood at 15,287 units, lower by 16%, compared to 18,155 vehicles sold in September last year.
The company's sales from exports at 5,441 vehicles in September 2012 are lower by 12%, compared to 6,217 vehicles, in September last year. The cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal are 27,749 units, lower by 11%, over 31,078 units, sold in the same period last year.
