Nissan Sunny Diesel Test Drive Report

The Nissan Sunny has been a revelation for the Japanese carmaker. It has shown to the the people that it is not just a maker of a premium hatch back but can also make cars that will make people drool. The Sunny has had a very positive effect on Nissan since its launch. However the only thing missing in it was a diesel engine.

Nissan responded to market demands six months after it launched the Sunny by launching its diesel variant. The Diesel car has turned out to be an even bigger success. People appear to have been waiting for the Sunny diesel to hit the market. Drivespark had earlier test driven the Sunny's petrol variant (read the review here) and cannot deny we were impressed by it. We were more than keen to test drive the Sunny diesel and we had an opportunity after a long wait indeed.

The Sunny Diesel has the exact same looks as the petrol variant. The only way you can make out the difference is the fuel cap which has diesel written over it. One of the feature that we liked in the Sunny is its interior finish and space. Undoubtedly, the Sunny Diesel also has acres of space that even a six footer will not find to be wanting. You can actually push the driver seat completely back and the yet the passenger behind the driver will have more than sufficient space.

Five members of Drivespark lodged themselves in side the Sunny diesel before the test drive just to see how practical the interior can be. The look ad feel of the interior remains top class. The small storage spaces in the doors and dash board add to the Sunny's utility.
