Tata Vista's Open Challenge To New Swift

Vista Swift Faceoff
Tata Motors recently launched the new Vista hatchback. The Indian carmaker has added several new features to the face-lifted Vista. It has also claims the new hatchback will offer a sedan like feel. One of the striking feature of the new Vista is its frontal design. Tata has borrowed the grille, headlights and the hood from its Indigo Manza premium sedan.

Tata Motors is so confident about the features of the new Vista that it has directly taken on market leader Maruti Suzuki through an internet ad campaign and a specially created website that compares the diesel variants of the Vista and the new Swift.

The Vista and Swift both are powered by a similar 1.2-litre, four cylinder common rail direct injection diesel engine. Both offer similar power and torque figures of 90bhp and 190Mn. The only difference is in the fuel economy. The Tata Vista has a fuel economy of 22.3kmpl while the Swift is slightly ahead at 22.9kmpl.

What the Tata Vista improves upon the new Swift is its interior fit and features. It comes with a soft finish dual tone dashboard, black and sahara beige interiors and cushioned door trims with fabric inserts. None of the mentioned features are currently available in the new Swift.
