The Tata Vista - Maruti Swift Face-off 2

The Tata Vista also boasts of a number of features that are not available in the Swift. It is a rather long list:
- Integrated music system with Aux-in and USB port
- Blue 5 Bluetooth that can connect with five mobile phones
- Steering mounted Audio controls
- Intelligent rear wiper
- Height adjustable driver seat with lumber support
The new Tata Vista also turns out to be better equipped in terms of standard safety features. The Vista gets ABS (Antilock Braking System), EBD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution) and Rear Demister.
The Big difference between the new Vista and the new Swift is in the price. The entry level version of the Vista LS is available at Rs.4,79,915 while the Swift LDI costs Rs.5,17,163. The Vista has two mid level variants that are available for Rs.5,28,850 and Rs.5,46,907. Both these cars are cheaper than the equivalent Swift Vdi that is available with a price tag of Rs.5,60,662. The top end variant of the Vista, the ZX is available for Rs.6,06,700 while the new Swift's top end variant, the Zdi costs Rs.6,37,904.
There is a visible difference in terms of equipment levels and prices between these two cars. The one difference that we see adds to the Vista's heightened position is its waiting period. It is known to all that Maruti Suzuki has reduced production of the Swift since August 29th. The strike continues to disrupt production and some reports say waiting period for the swift has crossed eight months. The Tata Vista is more readily available and the waiting period is not more than a month.
