Volkswagen Virtus Completes 4 Years In India; Special Anniversary Offers Announced
Volkswagen is celebrating the fourth anniversary of the Virtus midsize sedan with a range of special offers and customer benefits. The Virtus continues to be one of the best-selling sedan models in the Indian market, despite the segment witnessing lower demand compared to SUVs.
Sales and interest in midsize sedans have significantly decreased in India over the past few years. Today, only a handful of models continue to survive in the segment, including the Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, and Honda City.

Among these rivals, the Virtus consistently posts the highest monthly sales figures. Volkswagen claims that one Virtus is sold every 24 minutes in India. Over the last four years, the company has retailed more than 86,000 units of the sedan, making it the highest-selling model in Volkswagen India's lineup.
Introduced in 2022, the Virtus quickly established itself as one of the most driver-focused cars in its segment. The sedan has earned a strong reputation among driving enthusiasts for its engaging handling, refined performance, and German engineering, despite the growing popularity of premium SUVs in the Indian market.

To celebrate four years of the Virtus in India, Volkswagen has rolled out several customer benefits, including Buy Now, Pay Later schemes, loyalty rewards, special anniversary offers, and exclusive purchase benefits. Among all the midsize sedans currently on sale, the Virtus continues to stand out with its attractive design, premium cabin, and engaging driving dynamics.
The Virtus is offered with two turbo-petrol engine options: a 1.0-litre TSI and a 1.5-litre TSI. The 1.0-litre TSI engine produces 115 PS of power and 178 Nm of torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
The larger 1.5-litre TSI engine develops 150 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque and is exclusively paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. It also features Active Cylinder Technology, which improves fuel efficiency during highway cruising by deactivating two cylinders under light engine loads.

Recently, Volkswagen introduced the facelifted Taigun SUV in India with the same engine options, refreshed styling, updated features, and enhanced safety equipment. The updated SUV also replaces the 6-speed torque converter automatic with a new 8-speed torque converter transmission for the 1.0-litre TSI variant.
With the Taigun already receiving a comprehensive update, the Virtus is expected to follow with a similar facelift by late 2026. Until then, Volkswagen is aiming to drive sales of the current model through attractive anniversary offers and customer benefits. The Virtus continues to stand out as a driver-focused sedan that brings German engineering to a wider audience, with prices ranging from Rs 10.71 lakh to Rs 19.20 lakh (both ex-showroom).
