Renault has launched the new-generation Kwid hatchback in India with subtle styling updates, a refreshed cabin, and several new technology features. The entry-level hatchback continues to target buyers looking for an affordable city car with an SUV-inspired design. Here's a look at everything that has changed in the new Kwid compared to its predecessor.
2026 Renault Kwid: What's New?
The Renault Kwid continues to be powered by a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 69 PS of power and 92.5 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT.
New Bolder Design

The new Kwid adopts a bolder and more SUV-inspired design, giving the hatchback a stronger road presence. It features a redesigned front grille, Renault's signature 3D logo, stylish new wheel covers, chunky bumpers, body cladding, and a refreshed rear profile that enhances its rugged appeal.
Renault has also retained the Kwid's impressive 184 mm ground clearance, making it one of the tallest hatchbacks in its segment. Dual-tone exterior colour options further add to its youthful and sporty character.
More Updated Interior

The cabin has been refreshed with a cleaner and more modern layout. It now features a fully digital LED instrument cluster, a 20.32 cm touchscreen infotainment system, updated upholstery with Kwid branding, and physical controls for essential functions, making the cabin more practical and user-friendly. The Kwid continues to offer seating for up to five occupants and provides a spacious cabin along with a 279-litre boot, making it suitable for both daily commuting and weekend travel.
New Technology Features
The touchscreen infotainment system now supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Other convenience features include an Instant View Monitor with alerts and a rear-view camera with dynamic guidelines, making parking easier in urban environments.
Enhanced Safety

Under Renault's Human First programme, the new-generation Kwid now comes equipped with 17 standard safety features. These include six airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Start Assist, Traction Control System, reverse parking sensors, and three-point seat belts for all occupants. These additions ensure that the new Kwid not only offers a stylish design but also significantly improves passenger safety.
Two Trim Options
Renault is offering the new-generation Kwid in two variants: Evolution and Climber. The Evolution variant is priced from Rs 4.52 lakh (ex-showroom) for the manual transmission, while the AMT version starts at Rs 4.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
The top of the line Climber variant is priced at Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom), with the AMT version available at Rs 5.60 lakh (ex-showroom). With its refreshed styling, improved features, and competitive pricing, the new Kwid continues to be one of the most affordable and value-packed hatchbacks in the Indian market.
