The Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X was launched in India earlier this year. The motorcycle is similar to the standard variant, however it features certain changes. Royal Enfield has updated the Thunderbird to offer a more modern styling. The motorcycle comes in bright, funky colours.
Royal Enfield has updated the handlebar, making it more flatter than before. This helps improve the maneuverability of the motorcycle around the city. The Thunderbird 350X is also the first motorcycle from the company to feature alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. The motorcycle also comes with lesser chrome. The Thunderbird 350X now gets an all-black treatment, which further extends to the alloy wheels as well.
The Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X is powered by the same 346cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. It produces 19.8bhp and 28Nm of torque, mated to a five-speed gearbox.
The Thunderbird 350X although not the most powerful, still feels nimble enough around the city. The handlebars offer a relaxed upright seating position, which further helps filter through traffic with ease. However, the characteristic vibrations on any Royal Enfield is felt on the Thunderbird 350X as well. The vibrations begin, immediately from the moment the ignition is turned on. The motorcycle manages a top speed of 120km/h.
The Royal enfield Thunderbird 350X gives an average of around 30km/l. Though, th figure does seem low, it is important to note that the motorcycle weighs nearly 200kg. However, Royal Enfield does provide a large 20-litre fuel tank. This gives the Thunderbird 350X an ideal range of 600km on a single tank.
The Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X comes with a number of changes compared to the standard model. Some of the features on the Thunderbird 350X include 9-inch black alloy wheels as well as 19 and 18-inch tubeless tyres at the front and rear, respectively.
Other features include a low-set flat handlebar, blacked out trims, such as the exhaust, forks and wheels, LED DRL headlamps and a twin-pod semi-digital instrument cluster. The motorcycle also features 280mm and 240mm front and rear discs, respectively.
The new Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X comes a more modern design and styling, compared to the standard variant. The low-set flat handlebars and the single-piece seat offer a good riding position. The motorcycle is nimble around city, filtering through the traffic with ease. On the highway as well, the motorcycle is a breeze to ride, however, the 195kg weight does show up around the corners.
The Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X although heavy, feels nimble on the highways. The Motorcycle offers a comfortable and relaxed riding position. Even the single-piece seats on the Thunderbird 350X offer enough support for long journeys.
