Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Design And Style

The Royal Enfiled Super Meteor 650 is the new flagship of the RE lineup and sees the retro bikemaker go down the cruiser path for the first time with its 650 twins platform. The Super Meteor 650 is a typical cruiser in terms of its looks. Everything from the circular headlamp to the swept-back handlebars along with the teardrop-shaped tank, forward-set footpegs, the low-slung seat and the low riding exhaust are all present here. However, while it may look like a retro cruiser, the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 offers quite a few modern touches that make you stand up and take notice when it glides past you. The most visible of these modern bits is the headlight which is a full LED unit, a first for Royal Enfield. Another first for Royal Enfield that is found on the new Super Meteor 650 is the upside-down fork at the front. The Super Meteor 650 shares its instrumentation with other motorcycles in the RE range including the smaller Meteor 350, however, the tripper pod, which is an optional extra on the other bikes, is fitted as standard kit on the flagship cruiser. The new Super Meteor 650 rides on alloy wheels that look quite nice. The lower-spec versions of the new Super Meteor 650 get the regular seat but we would spend the extra cash to get the version with the touring seat which looks to be a whole lot more comfortable for the long cruises the new bike is built for.

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Engine And Performance

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Engine And Performance

The all-new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is powered by the same 648cc parallel-twin engine found on the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 motorcycles. The engine remains unchanged on the Super Meteor 650 and is as unstressed as ever producing 46.3bhp at 7,250rpm and a peak torque of 53.2Nm at 5,650rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Mileage

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Mileage

The claimed ARAi mileage figure for the Super Meteor 650 is 30 km/l. This figure along with the Super Meteor 650's 15.7-litre fuel tank should give you a maximum range of 471 on a single tank of fuel.

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Important Features

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Important Features

The new Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 sports quite a few features including the fact that it gets the tripper pod as standard equipment. The new 650 cruiser also gets multiple-seat options. The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 sports a 43mm upside-down fork at the front that offers 120mm of travel along with twin shocks at the rear that allow for 101mm of travel. To bring the Super Meteor 650 to a halt, the cruiser sports disc brakes on both wheels. The front wheel sports a 320mm disc while the rear is braked by a 300mm disc. The brakes are aided by dual-channel ABS. The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 unlike the other bikes made on the 650 twins platform features a staggered wheel setup. At the front is a 19-inch wheel shod with 100/90-19 rubber and the rear is a smaller 16-inch unit shod with 150/80-B16 tyre. The wheels as mentioned earlier are alloys while the tyres are of the tubeless variety.

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Verdict

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Verdict

The Super Meteor 650 is the new flagship of the Royal Enfield range and it more than justifies its price tag with its retro cruiser looks on the tried and tested 650 twins platform. We would option ours with the touring seat.
