Ducati Desmo450 EDX & MX Factory Launched From Rs 18.55 Lakh
The Ducati Desmo450 EDX abd MX Factory have been launched in India. Prices for the two bikes start at Rs 18.55 lakh for the EDX, while the Desmo450 MX Factory is priced at Rs 21.26 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).
Both motorcycles arrive less than a month after their international launch, and pre-bookings are open across Ducati dealerships in the country. The EDX is aimed at enduro and cross-country riding, and the MX Factory at motocross racing.

Ducati Desmo450 EDX: Price & Engine
Both new motorcycles use a 449.6cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that makes 63.5hp at 9,400rpm and 53.5Nm at 7,500rpm. Seventy percent of peak torque is available from 4,200rpm. The engine uses Ducati's Desmodromic valve system, which opens and closes the valves mechanically instead of relying on springs to close them.
The rear sprocket grows to 51 teeth from 49 on the earlier model, improving rear-wheel torque out of corners. Piston replacement and valve-clearance inspection are specified at intervals of around 45 hours.
Electronics are led by a closed-loop traction control system that monitors rear-wheel slip and adjusts engine output. It detects when the motorcycle is airborne and pauses intervention during jumps, and the rider can override it through the clutch lever when more wheelspin is needed. Two power modes, two riding modes, launch control, engine brake control and a bi-directional quickshifter are also fitted.
Enduro Hardware and Equipment
The Ducati Desmo450 EDX carries an 8.5-litre fuel tank, against 7.2 litres on the MX Factory, along with revised bodywork and a dedicated seat. It rides on an 18-inch rear wheel wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion XC Mid-Soft tyres. Weight is 107.1kg without fuel, and seat height is 970mm.
The aluminium chassis and Showa suspension are shared with the MX Factory, but the springs and damping are revised for enduro use. Up front are 49mm upside-down forks with 310mm of travel, and the rear monoshock offers 301mm. Showa units on both motorcycles get Dark Kashima coating and a titanium oxide (TiO) treatment for better wear resistance.
Handguards, an engine skid plate and a side stand come as standard. The EDX is offered in a single Ducati Red colour.
MX Factory Upgrades
The motocross-focused MX Factory weighs 104kg without fuel and uses an aluminium twin-spar frame. A full titanium Akrapovic exhaust with dedicated engine mapping is fitted, along with billet aluminium triple clamps and a holeshot device for race starts. A sump guard, a disc rotor guard and an RK MXU O-ring chain are also included, and the bike gets a new Ducati Corse livery.
Suspension uses fully adjustable 49mm Showa upside-down forks with 310mm of travel and a rear monoshock with 301mm. Wire-spoke wheels measure 21 inches at the front and 19 inches at the rear, wearing Pirelli Scorpion MX32 Mid-Soft tyres. Brembo callipers grip 260mm front and 240mm rear Galfer discs.
