2027 Kawasaki Z650 S - Design & Ergonomics

The styling of the Kawasaki Z650 S follows the Japanese firm's Sugomi design language, with a redesigned LED headlamp and tail-light that take cues from the Z900. Larger fuel tank extensions and sharper body panels sit up front, and aluminium radiator covers and a raised rear section round out the changes.

The handlebar is wider and positioned further forward, giving a more committed riding posture than the Z650. Seat height goes up from 790mm to 805mm. Kerb weight is 193kg, 5kg more than the 188kg of the Z650, while the 15-litre fuel tank and 130mm ground clearance stay the same. The Kawasaki Z650 S is offered in a single Pearl Blizzard White and Candy Lime Green colour scheme, with full-LED lighting.

2027 Kawasaki Z650 S - Engine, Hardware & Features

Power for the 2027 Kawasaki Z650 S comes from the unchanged 649cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine as before, producing 67bhp at 8,000rpm and 64Nm at 6,700rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, and the new assist-and-slipper clutch reduces lever effort and helps control rear-wheel instability during aggressive downshifts. Kawasaki is offering a quickshifter as an optional accessory for clutchless upshifts on the Z650 S. Traction control is part of the package too.

The suspension setup is unchanged, with an RSU fork at the front and a backlink monoshock at the rear. The brakes are smaller, though. Twin 272mm front discs replace the earlier 300mm units, and the rear disc shrinks from 220mm to 186mm.

The Kawasaki Z650 S gets a 4.3-inch colour TFT cluster with a revised layout. It shows vehicle information, riding logs and selected notifications, and supports smartphone connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation.
