The Royal Enfield Classic 350 is the highest-selling model from the iconic bike manufacturer's product lineup. The Classic 350 dons a retro design reminiscent of classic motorcycles from yesteryears. The Classic 350 is a perfect example of a dated design with modern technologies.
The Royal Enfield Classic 350 features metal encased telescopic front forks emphasizing its retro character along with the chrome crowned headlight. The front mudguard covers the front tyre completely revealing a vintage styling of the Classic 350.
The teardrop fuel tank of the Classic 350 with the chrome fuel tank cover and black-rubber finished knee-pad reinforces its retro styling. Other key elements of the Classic 350 like the body coloured dual rear suspension and the single saddle seat with springs takes you back to the 1940s.
At the rear, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 receives an uncluttered finish with smooth flowing rear mudguard leading to a retro designed taillight. The overall design and finish have leaped in styling, although it is not on par with most Indian motorcycles.
The Royal Enfield 350 is powered by the Unit Construction Engine (UCE) 346cc single-cylinder, four-stroke unit, which produces 19.8bhp @ 5250rpm and 28Nm of torque @ 4000rpm mated to a 5-speed constant mesh manual gearbox.
The engine specifications of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 might be meager, but the availability at a lower rpm offers a good mid-range power required for long rides. The power delivery of the UCE engine is smooth; however, the 5-speed gearbox can give you some trouble in finding the right gear and might sound harsh at high revolutions.
The ride and handling of the Classic 350 are outstanding, and the front and rear suspensions work wonders on this motorcycle. The ride is comfortable taking all the bumps and potholes with ease. The brakes, front disc, and rear drum lacks bite and feels rubbery at times.
Although the claimed mileage of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 is around 37kpl, in real-world condition, the motorcycle will return fuel efficiency in the range of 25 to 30kpl.
The Royal Enfield Classic 350 features include an analog instrument console which houses the speedometer, battery charge indicator, and odometer. The Classic 350 features electric start as well as kickstart options.
The Classic 350 is one of the most-affordable motorcycles and is currently highest-selling bike from Royal Enfield. The Classic 350 offers a comfortable ride for long journeys, and with its retro design, the bike stands out from the overcrowded 100cc motorcycles.
The Classic 350 misses out on modern features such as ABS and could benefit from a better gearbox which could make it one of the most-sought-after bike in India.
