Bikes at Auto Expo 2024

The Auto Expo 2024 is a biennial event, held in Greater Noida and is the largest gathering of automotive brands in the country. The Auto Expo gives automotive brands the opportunity to unveil their upcoming products, launch new vehicles and showcase some extremely unique concepts.

Here are all the new bikes & scooters showcased at the Auto Expo 2024. This includes new two-wheeler launches, upcoming bikes and scooter models, electric two-wheelers and concepts of future bikes for the Indian market at the Auto Expo 2024. The bikes and scooters showcased at the Auto Expo 2024 spans across all segments as well, from entry-level commuter offerings to litre-class superbikes.

  • 1 .Aprilia SXR 160

    Aprilia SXR 160
    Aprilia SXR 160 is a maxi-scooter from the Italian two-wheeler manufacturer. The SXR 160 was unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo by the brand. Like the other Aprilia model, the scooter features a three-part headlamp design with integrated DRLs. Front telescopic suspension aids for better handling of the scooter. Aprilia has confirmed the SXR will be available in two engine displacements, 125cc and 160cc. The SXR maxi-scooter is expected to launch by Q3 2020 (August).

    Okinawa Cruiser
    Okinawa Cruiser is a maxi-electric scooter unveiled by the brand at the 2020 Auto Expo. The maxi-scooter features a radical design with most of the front apron filled by a large headlamp with integrated DRLs and turn indicators. The Cruiser is powered by a 3kW brushless electric motor paired with a 4kWh lithium-ion battery pack.     Suzuki Gixxer Series
    Suzuki Gixxer 155 and 250 models have been updated with the BS6 engine. The updated motorcycles were showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. Both the 155cc and 250cc existing engines will be carried forward to achieve BS6 compliance. Although the power figures of the BS6 model were not revealed, we expect it to remain similar to the BS4 models. Apart from the engine, we expect the features and design to remain the same and carried forward from the older models.

    Suzuki Burgman Street has also received the BS6 engine update and was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. Like the other models in the brand’s line-up, the Burgman Street is also expected to carry forward the 124cc engine to make it BS6 compliant. The Burgman maxi-scooter is also expected to feature a start-stop system as well.

    Suzuki Access 125
    Suzuki Access 125 is already being sold in BS6 format in the Indian market. The scooter now features an updated design of the Access 125, which now offers a larger footboard, improved under-seat storage, larger seat, chrome inserts all around the scooter, and redesigned body graphics. The Access 125 is powered by the same 124cc single-cylinder engine which is now, fuel-injected. It produces 8bhp at 6750rpm and 10Nm of peak torque at 5500rpm.

    Suzuki Burgman MotoGP Edition
    The Suzuki Burgman MotoGP Edition features a new livery similar to the brand’s MotoGP bikes. The Ecstar livery makes the maxi-scooter more appealing and sporty as well. Apart from the paint scheme change, all other features are similar to the BS6 Burgman Street standard edition.

    Vespa Elettrica as the name suggests is an electric scooter from the retro-styled two-wheeler manufacturer. Vespa Elettrica looks similar to the IC engine counterparts. Some of the design changes on the electric scooter include a fully-digital instrument console, riding modes; among others. The Vespa Elettrica also features smartphone app connectivity as well.     Vespa Racing Sixty features a racing livery on the standard Vespa. This will be a limited edition of the scooter that Piaggio will be launching at a later date. Apart from the livery the wheels also sport a gold finish as well. However, the scooter remains similar to the standard variant in all other mechanical and electrical aspects.

    Peugeot e-lidux was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo next to the Mahindra pavilion. The Mahindra & Mahindra group has acquired 100% control of the French two-wheeler manufacturing division. The e-Ludix has a 2.500 KW Bosch electric motor for a limited speed of 45 km/h. The scooter also has a Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) or regenerative braking in which energy from braking is returned to the battery.

    Hero Electric AE-47
    The Hero Electric AE-47 is an electric motorcycle from the brand. The AE-47 sports a naked street-fighter look with round-shaped headlamps. The seems promising with an upright ergonomics to help with city commuting. The AE-47 motorcycle comes powered by a 4kW electric motor paired to a 3.5kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The maxi-scooter also comes in two colour options. The Raptor is powered by a 3kW brushless motor that draws its power from 2.9kWh Lithium-ion battery. The charge times are rated between 3 - 4 hours to provide a range of 100 to 250 km with a top speed of 120km/h. The Evolet Raptor will be available in showrooms by June 2020.

    Evolet Hawk is an electric motorcycle from the brand showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. The Hawk is a fully-faired motorcycle and features a sporty design with the inclusion of projector headlamps. This includes a 7-inch TFT display for the instrument console, on-board navigation, vehicle telemetry, Over-the-Air (OTA) updates; among others. The modern-looking electric scooter featured premium hardware including USD forks up front, preload adjustable dual shock absorbers at the rear, and disc brakes at either end.
