Unique Amphibious TVR Scamander To Highlight London Concours 2024's Wildcards Class
The London Concours, a distinguished automotive event in the UK, is gearing up to introduce a captivating "Wildcards" class in its 2024 edition. This unique category will spotlight rare and extraordinary vehicles, each with its own unique narrative and features. Scheduled from June 4th to 6th at the Honourable Artillery Company, the event promises an array of exceptional cars presented by Adrian Flux.
Among the standout exhibits is the amphibious TVR Scamander, a singular creation by Peter Wheeler, the former boss of TVR. This vehicle is notable for its dual capability to traverse both land and water, a feature that sets it apart from conventional designs. Despite its innovative approach, the Scamander remains a one-off model, making its appearance at the London Concours a rare opportunity for enthusiasts.
Another highlight includes the 1958 Mercedes-Benz 220S "Ponton" Cabriolet, a vehicle that marked a significant moment in automotive design and construction. Joining this illustrious lineup is the Lotus 1976 Esprit, which gained fame through its role in the James Bond film "The Spy Who Loved Me." Additionally, a Jaguar XK120, celebrated for its racing legacy, along with other remarkable vehicles will be showcased.
The London Concours is not just about cars; it offers a comprehensive experience with a variety of food and drink selections, live stage discussions, and displays from luxury brands and boutiques. It's an event designed to provide an unforgettable day out for car aficionados.
Organized by Thorough Events, known for their work with the Concours of Elegance at Windsor Castle since 2012, the London Concours has established itself as a premier classic car event. This gathering not only celebrates automotive history but also showcases innovations that have shaped the industry.
