Roger Penske's journey in IndyCar racing began in 1968 with a stock block-powered Eagle driven by Mark Donohue. The team made its debut at Indianapolis in 1969, earning Donohue rookie of the year honors. By 1971, Donohue clinched Team Penske's first IndyCar win at the Pocono 500, and in 1972, he secured their inaugural victory at the Indianapolis 500. Today, Team Penske boasts an impressive record as a 19-time winner of the Indy 500, more than any other team in the history of this prestigious event.

The collection consigned by Roger Penske features an array of pace cars that have graced the Indianapolis 500 over the years. Among them is a standout 1979 Ford Mustang Pace Car Edition (Lot T126), awarded to Rick Mears after his victory in the 1979 Indianapolis 500. This vehicle remains in unrestored condition with just 1,633 miles on the odometer. Additionally, two Z06 Corvette Coupes from 2006 (Lot T137) and 2015 (Lot T141), both Indianapolis 500 Pace Car Replica Conversions, boast remarkably low mileage of 239 and 88 miles respectively.

Other notable lots include a pair of 2010 Chevrolet Camaro Pace Car Editions (Lots T139 and T140) and a 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Coupe (Lot T142) with only 50 miles. These vehicles represent just a fraction of the diverse selection available for auction, promising something for every collector and enthusiast in attendance.
