Southern California Hosts Largest Porsche Gathering With Over 11,000 Fans
The second annual Air|Water Porsche enthusiast show, a standalone event produced by the Luftgekühlt events team, marked a significant success this past weekend. Celebrating 75 years of Porsche's legacy, the event attracted over 11,000 enthusiasts and showcased more than 1,000 registered display cars across the expansive 130-acre site at the Orange County Fair & Event Center. The event offered a plethora of experiences for attendees, from meticulously curated galleries in six main exhibition halls to an array of off-road and rally machines in the Action Sports Arena.
Highlights of the event included the Broad Arrow Live Auction in The Hangar and a sold-out exhibit hall featuring companies dedicated to Porsche enthusiasts. A striking display of 33 white Porsches in the Pacific Amphitheatre, custom restored builders in Park Plaza, and a barn full of vintage finds were among the attractions. The event also featured a Porsche-powered Formula 1 car, Le Mans winners, and Pikes Peak entrants, providing an unforgettable experience for Porsche fans.
Notable VIPs in attendance included show organizers and decorated racers Patrick Long and Jeff Zwart, along with Porsche Factory racers Jörg Bergmeister and Alwin Springer. Despite occasional long lines for clothing capsules and event merchandise, fans now have the opportunity to purchase items from the comfort of their homes via the Luftgekühlt website.
The Air|Water team extended their gratitude to all attendees, car owners, participating brands, collectors of featured cars, and event partners for their contributions to the show's success. The next project on the horizon for the team is the annual Luftgekühlt show, dedicated to air-cooled Porsches and set to return to Southern California in October this year.
