KYMCO UK Appoints Damian Butterworth As Senior Area Manager For North And Scotland

KYMCO UK has recently unveiled a strategic move in its ongoing effort to expand its presence across the UK, particularly in the northern regions, including Northern England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. Starting from 7th May 2024, Damian Butterworth will take on the role of Senior Area Manager for these key areas. With a base in Leeds, Butterworth is ideally positioned to spearhead KYMCO's growth initiatives in this significant market segment.

Butterworth's appointment is not just a new chapter in his career but also a pivotal development for KYMCO UK. He brings to the table an impressive track record, with over 35 years of experience in the automotive industry. His journey began as an apprentice mechanic, eventually ascending through various dealership roles to reach management level positions that encompassed training and business development responsibilities. His prior engagements include significant stints in the ATV and Marine sector with renowned manufacturers like Honda UK.

New KYMCO Area Manager Named

In his new capacity, Butterworth will oversee the comprehensive KYMCO range, which includes motorcycles and scooters, ATVs, and mobility scooters and powerchair products. His extensive experience is expected to be a cornerstone in enhancing the support and guidance for the KYMCO dealer network. "I aim to bring a wealth of experience that will support and guide the KYMCO dealer network and ensure a quality support programme is in place for our growth plans for the future across all our business sectors," stated Butterworth.

Neil Keeble, National Sales and Marketing Manager at KYMCO UK, expressed his enthusiasm for Butterworth's joining. "I am excited to have Damian join the KYMCO UK sales team, who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience – and is a further example of our continued drive to fully establish ourselves in the UK ATV and 2-wheel marketplace to emulate our brand position in the mobility sector where we are a renowned market leader," Keeble remarked. He also noted his confidence in Butterworth's ability to significantly benefit both the dealer network and KYMCO UK's long-term growth strategies.

KYMCO, standing for Kwang Yang Motor Company, celebrates its 60th anniversary this year. Originating from Taiwan as an overseas producer of Honda motorcycles for three decades, KYMCO embarked on producing its own models under its brand name in 1992. By 2003, it had acquired back Honda’s business interest and today, it markets its brand globally with motorcycles, ATVs, and mobility scooters.
