Yamaha FZ Blue Flex Launched At Rs 1.24 Lakh - 4th E85 Compliant Motorcycle In India
Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Yamaha has launched the FZ Blue Flex, a flex-fuel version of its FZ motorcycle that runs on ethanol blends ranging from from E20 to E85. The all-new Yamaha FZ Blue Flex is priced at Rs 1.24 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi.
The all-new Yamaha FZ Blue Flex is the Japanese marque's first flex-fuel offering for the Indian market, and it is just the fourth E85-compatible two-wheeler currently on sale in the country along side the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 FFV and Hero's Splendor and HF Deluxe.

The Yamaha FZ Blue Flex is priced at Rs 1.24 lakh ex-showroom, positioning it roughly in the middle of Yamaha's nine-model FZ lineup. The FZ Blue Flex will initially be available through Yamaha's Blue Square premium dealerships in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana and Tamil Nadu. .
Yamaha FZ Blue Flex Launched: Engine & Performance
The new Yamaha FZ Blue Flex is powered by the same 149cc air-cooled, fuel-injected single-cylinder engine as the rest of the FZ range. Yamaha has modified the powerplant internally to run on higher ethanol blends up to E85.
Peak output for the Yamaha FZ Blue Flex stands at 11.7hp at 7,250rpm and 12.8Nm at 6,000rpm. The Blue Flex version of the FZ delivers 0.7hp and 0.5Nm less than the standard FZ, a common shortfall in flex-fuel engines caused by ethanol's lower energy density. The gearbox remains a 5-speed unit, unchanged from the rest of the range.
Commenting on the launch, Hajime Aota, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group, said: "Achieving a carbon-neutral future requires a dynamic, multi-pathway strategy rather than a single solution. Having already commenced our electric vehicle journey in India, the introduction of our innovative Blue Flex technology marks another strategic milestone. This move is a deliberate alignment of Yamaha's global sustainability vision with the Indian government's progressive biofuel policies. By embracing multiple technological avenues, we reinforce our commitment to global carbon neutrality goals while providing versatile, high-quality products tailored to the evolving needs of Indian consumers."
