Why Is Toyota Ebella Rs 3.6 Lakh Costlier Than Maruti eVitara?
Toyota is selling the Urban Cruiser Ebella electric SUV in India, which is based on the Maruti Suzuki eVitara. Though they are mechanically very similar, the Ebella is priced higher than the Maruti electric SUV.
Why Is Toyota Ebella Expensive?
The Ebella top-spec E3 variant is priced at Rs 23.60 lakh (ex-showroom), while the eVitara range starts at Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Here we are going to look at the additional features and benefits that have resulted in the higher pricing.
Top Variant
The Ebella compact electric SUV is currently available only in the top-spec E3 variant. However, the Maruti Suzuki eVitara is sold in three different trims, namely Delta, Zeta and Alpha.
This allows the Ebella to come with a fully loaded package of technology and features as standard. It is gets a 61 kWh battery pack that claims a maximum driving range of 543 km.

Better Ownership Experience
The Toyota electric SUV gets premium ownership benefits such as an 8-year battery warranty, a 60% assured buyback program and premium after-sales service. All these benefits help improve customer confidence and could contribute to stronger resale value over the long term, further enhancing the ownership experience.
Superior Design
It gets pixel-style LED lights, C-shaped LED DRLs and a new-age EV design language with a signature hammerhead-inspired front fascia that gives it a distinctive exterior appearance.
The overall design of the Toyota Ebella looks more unique and premium than the Maruti Suzuki eVitara. The Maruti Suzuki eVitara, on the other hand, follows the brand's familiar SUV design language. It offers a more rugged and traditional appearance compared to the Ebella.
Luxurious Interior And Cabin

The Toyota Ebella gets a distinct dual-tone interior theme along with a premium mix of leatherette and fabric upholstery, giving the cabin a more premium appearance. It also adds more practicality with a premium 40:20:40 split-folding rear bench layout.
Premium Features
One of the biggest contributors to its higher price tag is its premium feature package. It comes equipped with a wide range of premium features and technology as standard. These include Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera system, JBL audio system, ventilated front seats, a powered driver's seat and seven airbags. Many of these features are also available on higher variants of the eVitara.
Pricing

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella is priced at Rs 23.60 lakh (ex-showroom), while prices for the E1 and E2 variants are yet to be announced. Under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, it can be purchased from Rs 15.25 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Maruti Suzuki eVitara Delta variant is priced at Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the Zeta variant is priced at Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and the top-spec Alpha variant is priced at Rs 20.01 lakh (ex-showroom).
Under the BaaS model, the eVitara can be purchased from Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Delta, Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Zeta and Rs 14.51 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Alpha variant.
