Volvo EX90 Launched At Rs 1.26 Crore - 625km Range
Swedish carmaker Volvo has launched the EX90 electric SUV at Rs 1.26 crore (ex-showroom) as its new flagship in the country. The Volvo EX90 is offered only as a six-seater in India.
The EX90 costs Rs 27.2 lakh more than the combustion-powered XC90, whose current generation is over a decade old. Bookings made before December 31, 2026 include an 11kW home charger, a three-year service package and a 65 percent assured buyback over three years.

Volvo EX90 - Battery, Range and Charging
The Volvo EX90 uses a single 106kWh battery pack feeding a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup. Combined output is 456hp and 670Nm, enough for a claimed 0-100km/h time of 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 180km/h. WLTP-rated range stands at 625km.
The 800-volt SPA2 architecture supports DC charging at up to 350kW. At that rate, the battery goes from 10 to 80 percent in 22 minutes. An 11kW AC wallbox needs roughly 11 hours for a full charge.
Volvo EX90 - Design, Cabin and Features
The Volvo EX90 has T-shaped LED headlamps with pixel-style DRLs, and slim, vertically oriented fog lamps sit below them. There is no grille, only a Volvo emblem in the centre and a trapezoidal air dam lower down.
Wheelbase measures 2,985mm, and the Volvo EX90 rides on 21-inch alloy wheels with 210mm of ground clearance. Standard air suspension can raise the clearance to a maximum of 250mm.
At the rear, C-shaped LED tail-lamps are joined by a black strip, with LED arrays flanking the rear windscreen and a Volvo wordmark on the bootlid. Colour options are Crystal White, Denim Blue, Mulberry Red, Onyx Black, Sand Dune and Vapour Grey.
Inside, the Volvo EX90 gets two-tone Nappa leather upholstery, a three-spoke steering wheel, brushed aluminium trim, a 14.5-inch vertical infotainment touchscreen and a 9-inch driver's display. Most functions are routed through the touchscreen, leaving very few physical controls.
The India-spec Volvo EX90 comes only in a six-seat layout, with second-row captain's chairs that slide and recline. They lack the electric adjustment, ventilation, heating and massage functions of the front seats, and there are no rear window sunshades. A panoramic sunroof with switchable transparency is fitted.
The third row is accessed through the gap between the captain's chairs, which do not fold. Boot space is 324 litres with the third row up and 690 litres with it folded, and there is a 46-litre frunk.
Other equipment includes four-zone climate control, a 25-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system, configurable ambient lighting, nine airbags, an ADAS suite, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 360-degree camera, auto park assist, a digital key, a wireless charging pad and a cabin air purifier.
