Volkswagen Virtus Anniversary Edition Launched At Rs 19.20 Lakh - Celebrating 4 Years In India

German carmaker Volkswagen has launched the Virtus Anniversary Edition to mark four years of the sedan in the country. Priced at Rs 19,19,900 (ex-showroom), the limited-run Volkswagen Virtus Anniversary Edition is based on the top-spec GT Plus Sport variant and introduces an exclusive exterior finish while retaining the existing mechanical package.

The Volkswagen Virtus Anniversary Edition's main highlight is the new Avocado Pearl paint scheme, paired with a contrasting black roof and black alloy wheels. The exclusive colour combination gives the sedan a more distinctive appearance compared to the standard Virtus GT Plus Sport, while the rest of the exterior design remains unchanged.

Inside, the Virtus Anniversary Edition features the same equipment list as the GT Plus Sport variant of the sedan. Features include a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit, electric sunroof, Laser Red ambient lighting, aluminium pedals, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and an auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror. Volkswagen is also offering genuine accessories such as a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors and puddle lamps through its dealership network for both the Virtus and Taigun.

Powering the Volkswagen Virtus Anniversary Edition is the familiar 1.5-litre TSI EVO turbo-petrol engine that develops 148bhp and 250Nm of torque. The Virtus Anniversary Edition's engine is paired exclusively with VW's seven-speed DSG automatic transmission, with no mechanical or performance changes over the standard GT Plus Sport.

On the safety front, the Virtus Anniversary Edition continues with six airbags as standard, more than 40 safety features and a five-star Global NCAP safety rating. As with the other parts of the sedan, these safety features remain the same as those offered on the GT Plus Sport variant.

The Virtus Anniversary Edition is currently available in limited numbers across Volkswagen dealerships in India.
